Dust Bunnies

A quirky and cute little species that hail from some mysterious origin lost to all but Wulfric, but that of whom were introduced into Leefside by Wulfric. He is the aficionado on these little ones and has apparently been preserving and caring for a clutch of them for some time during his travels. He has found them invaluable travel companions as they require very little upkeep, are docile (most of the time) and energetic, and are quick to train, though this is hard to do without a little knowhow.

They are small and have the traits of a mammalian member of the lagomorph family of animals, but in all actuality have a unique set of traits that set them apart from others in that field. Their wide omnivorous diet is supplemented with skin cells and other micro-nutrients they can parse out of ambient dust, giving them part of their name. The other is their thick and hydrophobic coat of fur that, like chinchillas, is coated in a fine powder at all times and hides most of their features, like appendages.

Stone has trained them to wander about the Warden’s Guildhall and can be found just about anywhere, from the interior floors, to in specially made hidey holes, to in cabinets, ducts, or even on the roof. They are heavily communal creatures, and Stone has thread the connection in between their behaviors and “language” in order to establish them as essentially lookouts around the campus. If they see predators or danger or feel it in the air in some cases, they will tend to seek shelter near humans they designate as their own, which as of right now is the guild leaders and leaders alone. They also sometimes have helpful hints about other things they may have seen that can be picked up through their gestures and responses audibly using a language of differently pitched squeaks and chitters.

All of the guild leaders have been trained in how to instruct and care for dust bunnies as part of their station, and have their full loyalties. Stone, naturally, has a knack for recognizing individual members of the litter of bunnies and has a special place in his heart for them, thus why he’s dedicated so much of his time to domesticating them those some years back.

As RP goes, they are mainly there as cute fodder around the Warden building, cute things for members to interact with and can also be used as a tool for any of the guildmasters to get hints about plot related stuff discussed with those involved whether member, civilian, or leader. Though they were introduced in Wulfric’s character backstory, they are more an introduction I wished to propose for the entire rp’s amusement in the same way the madari add that little slice of character to the campus in Rosewood RP.

Uses:
-Look cute and so cute things
-cause chaos, every once in a while tampering with stuff they aren’t supposed to or getting lost and needing to be retrieved.
-Be used for fetch missions where they “report” a potentially interesting find in town.
