Dune Wyrm

Located on the border of the Rogue Sands, the Dune Wyrm is a hostile armored burrower that uses the deep sands to prey on unsuspecting victims. These creatures typically range from (9.5 -14) meters long and (1 - 2 ) meters tall. You can determine a Wyrm's age by their size because they never stop growing. So while incredibly rare, it's possible to stumble across elder Dune Wyrm’s that can reach the length of tall buildings. Though, the larger they get, the more difficult it becomes for them to hunt as they begin to slow down. The largest recorded Elder was 28 meters long and 4 meters tall.

Because of the high temperatures within Azmith, the Dune Wyrm uses the deep sands to absorb the cooler temperatures into their skin. Because of this ability, they also have the option to absorb hotter temperatures, which results in their underbelly gaining a warm glow from beneath its plating. This is a tactic used in brawls or during hunting as a way to scorch their enemies.

Wyrm hatchlings typically hatch with 2 or 3 siblings and are left by the parents once they become strong enough to burrow and hunt on their own. Until adulthood, these creatures will travel with their siblings to protect one another from the other dangers beneath the sand. If a Wyrm is born alone, they often die within their first few days of travel with nothing to help defend themselves against bigger creatures. Upon reaching adulthood, Dune Wyrm siblings often abandon one another in search of mates. Mates are determined by heated brawls (literally) to impress female Wyrms, where two or more male Dune Wyrms battle until one flees or dies and the remaining Wyrm is the victor. Female Dune Wyrms are often larger than Male dune worms in order to protect their young as the other leaves the burrow to hunt.
