Goblins
In terms of height that are akin to dwarves, as well as their skin being a sickly green tone, Goblins almost appear to be some sort of nightmarish sub race that originated from elves due to their long pointed ears. This is further evident in the fact that Goblins seem to spend most of their time within the darkness provided by caves and the underground, only making them seem more hellish. However, a huge stark contrast that sets the two apart from popular belief is that Goblins do not share the same life span as Elves, instead they can only live up to 60 years. That being said, Goblins are the true subterranean race that seem to have originated the practice of living under the surface. Through many generations, they have evolved to have natural dark vision, enabling them to travel through darkness effortlessly. They are able to navigate through tunnels and caves like it was the back of their hands. However, because of this Goblins are quite sensitive to harsh lights beaming directly into their eyes, as well as only able to distinguish dull shades of color.
Goblins are naturally a shy bunch, choosing to stay within the confines of the dark where they are comfortably away from unfamiliar eyes. They are well aware that they aren’t the prettiest thing to look at, something they are self-conscious about, but wouldn’t blame anyone for thinking so. They are quick to turn away from those that stare at them for too long, and hide behind something. It also doesn’t help that they are usually on the slim and short side, so anything bigger than them poses a threat. Which happens to be a lot of things.
In contrast to their shy nature, Goblins are actually quite clever and calculative in their actions. Being small has allowed them to escape the confines of using their size to their advantage, whether it may be for intimidation or brute forcing, and would rather observe a situation or environment as a tool to construct a plan. Naturally this makes them a rather curious bunch, wanting to study and investigate things they are unfamiliar with.
Excavating through untouched cave systems under Zul has always piqued their interests, as they are always excited at the potential of finding something out of the ordinary from their collection. Whether that may be gems, ores, or minerals. With so much material to try their hand at, Goblins have dedicated their time to concocting a mixture of these materials to craft tools unlike any other. Most of their tests have been trial and error, but it’s because of this resilience that they have encroached upon a formula that might revolutionize blacksmithing as a whole.
Although Goblins might not have as much tenacity as they wish to have, especially in comparison to the Dwarves and Dark Elves, the Goblins of Zul will at least remain stubborn in their belief that they are just in their claim to the Earth Star. As the magma from the Earth Star is possibly the key element they so desperately need in order to complete their formula. They just aren’t that assertive or aggressive when in the physical presence of the other two races.
